Why We Built FieldSub

FieldSub wasn’t created in a boardroom.

It was built in the mud, on job sites, and inside unfinished houses.

Our story started the way many construction companies do — out of necessity. We began cleaning houses just to make ends meet. Cleaning quickly turned into painting. Painting turned into painting hundreds of homes. Then thousands. Eventually those jobs became full remodels and large reconstruction projects.

Before long, insurance companies started calling us.

Not because we were the biggest company, but because we were the most reliable subcontractor they could find.

Mitigation companies were struggling. They were using dozens of different subcontractors on every project, and quality was impossible to control. Schedules slipped. Communication broke down. Nobody really knew who was responsible for what.

So they began trusting us with their most complex reconstruction projects.

As the company grew, the next challenge appeared: running the business.

Like most contractors, we tried every CRM and job management system we could find. On paper they looked powerful. In reality, they were built by people who had never actually worked in the field.

They kept adding features we didn’t need while ignoring the ones we depended on every day.

There were constant problems.

Language barriers between office staff and field crews.

Typing long instructions into job line items that workers couldn’t easily understand.

Having to translate everything just to communicate basic tasks.

Job costing was another major issue. If a project ran past 30 days, reporting started breaking down. There was no clear way to track the real profitability of a job the way construction companies actually operate.

Then there was the accounting problem.

Many CRMs push invoices into QuickBooks, but they don’t pull information back. If their system goes down, you can continue working inside QuickBooks—but when the CRM comes back online, those invoices never sync back properly.

Now your numbers don’t match, your reports are wrong, and your team loses trust in the system.

For companies running dozens or hundreds of jobs, that’s not a small inconvenience.

It’s chaos.

After years of dealing with these limitations, we realized something simple: The construction industry doesn’t need another CRM. It needs one built from the field up.

So we started building FieldSub.

A platform designed specifically for subcontractors and the companies that depend on them.

A system that understands scheduling crews, managing scopes of work, communicating across languages, tracking job profitability, and keeping accounting truly synchronized.

But we didn’t stop there. We built automation and AI learning directly into the platform.

FieldSub doesn’t just store information — it learns how your business operates.

Estimating is no longer guesswork.

Instead of making up numbers or copying old bids, FieldSub uses real costing methods used by general contractors, combined with historical job data and intelligent automation.

And inside the system, every company has its own integrated AI assistant.

Think of it as your own construction-focused ChatGPT built into the CRM and growing smarter the more you use it.

The result is simple: Better estimates. Better communication. Better job tracking. And better control over your company.

FieldSub is the system we wished existed when we started.

Now we’re building it so the next generation of subcontractors can run their businesses with clarity, control, and confidence — not chaos.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about FieldSub.

FieldSub is a software platform built specifically for subcontractors and field crews. It helps you get the job, run the job, and get paid — all from one place. Instead of using multiple tools for communication, estimating, scheduling, and payments, FieldSub brings everything together in one bilingual platform designed for the field and the office.

FieldSub is built for subcontractors and small-to-growing field service companies in trades like:

  • Remodeling
  • Landscaping
  • Painting
  • Framing
  • Roofing
  • Flooring
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical

Whether you run a one-crew operation or manage multiple teams, FieldSub helps organize your jobs, clients, and payments.

A large part of the construction workforce communicates primarily in Spanish, yet most business software is designed only for English-speaking office users. FieldSub was built with a Spanish-first interface so crews, managers, and owners can use the system naturally in the field. The platform works fully in both Spanish and English.

Many subcontractors rely on disconnected tools to run their business.

FieldSub replaces systems like:

  • Messaging apps for team communication
  • Spreadsheets or paper for estimates
  • Phone calls for scheduling
  • Cash or payment apps for payments

With one platform that manages the entire job workflow from start to finish.

Yes. FieldSub works on both web and mobile so crews can access everything directly from the job site. Teams can check schedules, update job progress, communicate with the office, track time, scan equipment QR codes, and collect payments in the field.
Yes. Clients can log in to see their project schedule, receive notifications when crews are on the way, review estimates and invoices, make payments, and leave ratings after a job is completed.
Yes. FieldSub allows you to create professional estimates with line items and send them to clients for approval. Once approved, the estimate can instantly convert into a scheduled job.
Yes. FieldSub allows companies to accept payments through the client portal or directly in the field using tap-to-pay from a mobile device. This helps subcontractors get paid faster and reduces payment delays.
Yes. FieldSub connects with product catalogs from major suppliers and big-box stores so subcontractors can access materials, pricing, and product details while creating estimates or planning jobs.
Yes. In a future phase, FieldSub will include a subcontractor bidding portal where subcontractors can view and bid on available projects while still managing their own company inside the platform. This creates a system where subcontractors can both run their business and access new opportunities.
